To the Editor:

The 2014-2015 McCain Performance Series is just around the corner, and what an amazing schedule it is! The season kicks off Friday, Sept. 5, with blues legend Buddy Guy. Other performances include Larry the Cable Guy, Straight No Chaser, “An Evening with Garrison Keillor,” “Elf the Musical,” Yo-Yo Ma, LeAnn Rimes, “Shatner’s World” — yes, that’s William Shatner — The Chieftains, Second City, Million Dollar Quartet, Michael Feinstein —“The Sinatra Project,” and much more. With such a variety of shows, there promises to be something for everyone.

Individual ticket sales begin this Sunday, July 27, and to give everyone a chance to preview our season, there will be a Super Saver Sunday event from 2 to 4 p.m. this Sunday in Forum Hall in the K-State Union.  Buddy the Elf will be in attendance with activities for children, while our adult patrons will have an opportunity to see an exciting multimedia presentation of the individual shows of what might be McCain’s best season yet.  The box office will be open to those who attend the event to sell tickets at a 15-percent discount for most shows.

Residents of the Flint Hills region are so fortunate to have such a first-class center for the performing arts where we can see the same shows as residents of New York and other major cities — and at a fraction of the cost. McCain Auditorium truly makes Manhattan a great place to live, work, and play. Please join us this season. You won’t want to miss it!
