MCC wins two games



The Manhattan Christian College men’s basketball team picked up two victories over the weekend, beating Presentation College 50-49 and Union College 108-94.

MCC beat Presentation on Friday night in a defensive game that saw a low-scoring first half. Presentation lead 27-23 at halftime, with both teams shooting less than 39 percent from the field. The Crusaders used a 9-0 run to start the half, but Presentation came back with an 8-0 run and led until the final three minutes.

Alex Hammack gave the Crusaders a 47-45 lead with a dunk, and Josh Camacho hit a 3-pointer to give MCC a 50-47 lead, and they hung on for the win. Hammack led the team with 16 points.

On Saturday, MCC led 52-50 at halftime and held on for a win. Sage Ruis had 29 points for the Crusaders, while Lonnie Penner had 22 points and made six 3-pointers.

MCC is now 9-8 on the season, and will return to action on Tuesday when it goes on the road to Calvary Bible College in Kansas City.
