The Manhattan Christian College men’s basketball team picked up its 20th win of the season on Friday night, defeating Ozark Christian College, 75-64.

This was the 10th straight win for the Crusaders, and it also gave them the Midwest Christian College Conference regular season championship by finishing 12-0 in the conference.

This is the sixth straight year that MCC has won outright or shared the MCCC title.

MCC got off to a strong start behind Lonnie Penner who connected on three 3-pointers in the first 6 minutes of the game to give the Crusaders an early 15-6 lead.

The Crusaders would hit three more 3-pointers in the first half on their way to a 43-27 halftime lead.

In the second half, MCC struggled from the field, hitting on only 30.3 percent of its shots,  The cool shooting allowed Ozark to get back in to the game, and with 4 minutes left it had shaved the margin to 65-62.

Penner was able to convert a layup and then Josh Camacho scored, which pushed the Crusaders on a 10-2 run to end the game.

Penner led five scorers in double figures with 13 points.  Sterling Roaf added 12 points and eight rebounds, while Camacho added 12 points and Alex Hammack dished out six assists.

The Crusaders (20-9) will enter the NCCAA Central Region Tournament as the No. 1 seed — taking on the No. 4-seed Baptist Bible College on Friday at 5:30p.m. in Springfield, Mo.
