MCC volleyball wins in Nebraska

The Manhattan Christian College volleyball team traveled to Lincoln, Neb., on Tuesday to play Union College and Central Christian College — defeating both.

In the first match, sophomore outside hitter and Manhattan High product Kylie Rupe finished with 17 kills, five aces and 12 digs. Junior middle hitter Alyssa Strain finished with 12 kills, three digs, one solo block and one block assist.

Sophomore setter Paige Mortensen led the offense with 37 assists, and also had four kills, seven digs and one block assist. Junior libero Lauren Hall had one kill, two assists and 12 digs.

In the second match, senior outside hitter Kayla Hawkins finished with 11 kills, seven digs and one block assist. Rupe finished with nine kills, one assist, three aces, 10 digs and one block assist.
