MCC volleyball into semis

The Manhattan Christian College volleyball team had its season come to an end on Saturday morning, as the Crusaders lost in three sets (20-25, 23-25, 19-25) to Clearwater Christian College, which has won seven straight NCCAA National Tournaments.

This closes out one of the best seasons in school history as MCC went 32-7, won both the conference regular season and tournament championship, the regional championship and finished in the top four in the nation.

MCC overcame adversity on Friday to advance to Saturday’s NCCAA national semifinals.

With seven players suffering from food poisoning, MCC had to make some adjustments in its first match of the day against Providence University College.

Despite having to alter their normal rotation the Crusaders were able to come away with the 25-20, 25-16, 23-25, 25-20 victory.

In the final match of pool play, MCC had all of its players back, but they still weren’t 100 percent yet. It didn’t matter, though, as the Crusaders knocked off top-seeded Kentucky Christian University, 25-23, 25-22, 25-22.
