The Manhattan Christian College men’s basketball team picked up a pair of wins over the weekend, defeating Central Christian College of the Bible (Mo.), 73-54 on Friday night and knocking off St. Louis Christian College on Saturday, 97-63.

Friday night, MCC was led by Sage Ruis who scored 17 points and Matt Doerksen who scored 15 points and pulled down a team-high 12 rebounds.

Against St. Louis, all 13 players in uniform scored, led by Bryce Birtell with 17 points. Ruis added 16 points, while Lonnie Penner chipped in with 12 points and Josh Camacho added 11 points.

MCC is now 13-9 overall on the season, and 6-1 in Midwest Christian College Conference action, which has the Crusaders in a three-way tie atop the conference with Barclay College and Ozark Christian College.

MCC will be on the road to face Barclay tonight and then returns home on Friday to host Ozark. If the Crusaders win both they will clinch at least a share of the conference championship, which would be their seventh consecutive regular season conference title.
