MCC men beat Barclay College

The Manhattan Christian College men’s basketball team came away with a 93-68 win over Barclay College in Haviland on Tuesday night.

With the win, the Crusaders finished 9-0 in the Midwest Christian College Conference (MCCC).

MCC got off to a good start and opened up a 33-17 lead with about seven minutes left in the first half.

The lead was mainly a result of strong perimeter shooting, as the Crusaders connected on 6 of 10 shots from behind the arc in the first half.

MCC led 42-29 at halftime.

The Crusaders continued to shoot the 3 well in the second half, as they hit 7 of 11 from long range in the second stanza on their way to the victory.

Five players reached double figures, led by Josh Camacho’s 17 points.  Sage Ruis added 15 points and Devin Ruis chipped in with 14 points.  Those three players combined to hit 11 of the team’s 3-pointers.

The Crusaders are now 18-8 on the season and will close the regular season at home this weekend when they host Central Christian College of the Bible on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. and Baptist Bible College at 4 p.m. on Saturday.

MCC will begin play in the MCCC Conference tournament next week in Moberly, Mo., as the top seed.
