The Manhattan Christian College men’s basketball team went on the road Saturday and defeated Baptist Bible College, 87-65.
MCC got off to a strong start and opened up a 23-13 lead midway through the first half. Baptist Bible, however, put together an 18-6 run to take a 31-29 lead.
Bible Baptist held a 40-37 lead at halftime.
In the second half, MCC went on a 13-4 run to take a 50-44 lead that it would never relinquish.
MCC shot 65 percent from the field in the second half on its way to outscoring Bible Baptist, 50-25.
Five Crusaders reached double figures led by Sage Ruis and Will Chisam who each scored 19 points. Lonnie Penner and Eric Bolduc each added 13 points and Alex Hammack chipped in with 11 points.
Manhattan Christian is now 9-7 overall on the season and 2-0 in region play. The Crusaders will be back in action Friday as they go on the road to take on conference rival Ozark Christian College in Joplin, Mo.
