Manhattan Area Technical College competed in a statewide, hand-on skills competition last month.

The air conditioning competition was held on April 18 at MATC and the welding and auto collision competitions were held on April 23 in Wichita. There were over 150 different technical trade competitions that take place during the month of April.

They include post-secondary and high school students.

All gold medalists across Kansas will compete at the national lever in Kansas City on June 23 through June 27.

MATC students placed first and second in air conditioning and refrigeration and third in auto collision report for the entire state.

Here are the winners:

Quin Call, gold medal for air conditioning and refrigeration

Mike Shelkey, silver medal for air conditioning and refrigeration

Brant Morris, bronze medal for auto collision repair
