The Marysville girls squeaked out a 58-55 overtime win in the third-place game of the Hiawatha Invitational, defeating Rock Creek in a back-and-forth affair Saturday night.
The Mustangs (5-8, 3-3 Mid-East) trailed by two at halftime, but outscored the Bulldogs 19-7 in the third quarter to take a 10-point lead.
It didn’t stick however, as Marysville (9-4, 4-2 NCKL) roared back in the fourth, going on a 17-7 run to force overtime, and winning the game in the extra period.
Dani Schwarz nailed a 3 late in the fourth quarter to tie the game and hit the game-winning 3 with 12 seconds left in overtime to secure the win.
Megan Srna led Rock Creek with 18 points, while freshman Alli Snapp added 15. Schwarz led the Bulldogs with 16 points.
