Former Kansas State pitcher Evan Marshall was called up by the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday.
Marshall’s appeared in 14 games for the AAA Reno Aces this season, and has one save and a 0.54 ERA. He has 19 strikeouts.
Marshall was drafted out of K-State by the Diamondbacks in 2011. He played for the Wildcats from 2009-11, and had a 5-5 record in his final season with a 1.62 ERA in 30 appearances out of the bullpen.
Marshall will become the second Wildcat currently in the Majors, joining pitcher Carlos Torres of the New York Mets. Torres made his big league debut in 2009 with the Chicago White Sox and has appeared in 93 Major League games in his career.
Marshall will be the 11th player in K-State history to play in the Major Leagues.
