The 2013 Little Apple Invitational, hosted by the Manhattan Marlins swim club, wrapped up their weekend meet Sunday afternoon and continued its success from Saturday.

The Marlins racked up 21 more wins throughout four age groups after winning 23 events the previous day.

“The team responded with even more enthusiasm and a lot of team spirit (Sunday),” Marlins head coach Rob Putnam said. “They were all very supportive of one another and lined the pool cheering for each other.

“Their attitude and approach today was very impressive.”

Pilar Dritz and Cameron Beauregard continued to impress on Day 2, as the 17-year-olds added to their win total from Saturday.

“(It was) more of the same from Pilar Dritz and Cameron Beauregard,” Putnam said, “but it was some of our younger swimmers who really shined today.”

Overall, the weekend meet featured swim clubs from all across the state, including clubs from Kansas City, Wamego, Emporia and Hutchinson.
