Manko Srs, Jrs have busy weekend

The Manhattan American Legion Manko Senior and Junior 17ers have a busy weekend ahead, starting today with the senior team playing in the Grand Slam Tournament that started this morning.

The Senior 17ers will play a game at Norvell Field at 6 p.m. against the Kansas City Barnstormers. They played the Junction City Hornets this morning at Tointon Family Stadium.

The seniors will play a pair of games on Friday in Topeka, and will play Saturday and Sunday if they continue to win games.

The Juniors will play the Wamego Yellow Jackets at 6 and 8 p.m. on Friday at CiCo Park and then play the Salina Hawks at noon and 2 p.m. on Sunday at Norvell Field.

The Junior 17ers will play Emporia Post 5 at 5 and 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 11, at Norvell and on Thursday, July 12, against the Salina Eagles at 6 and 8 p.m. at Norvell.

The Seniors will start the Boulder Invitational next Thursday and will play until July 15.
