Manhattan youth qualify for USATF Cross Country Nationals

Two Manhattan youth punched their ticket to the USA Track and Field national cross country championships during a qualifying meet Saturday at Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence.

Tyler Higgins placed third in the 3K run for bantam boys, finishing in a time of 14:30.  Harris deNoble placed second in the 3K run for midget boys, with a time of 14:14.

They are now eligible to compete in the USATF cross country national meet on Dec. 8 in Albuquerque, N.M.

Higgins and deNoble are members of the Manhattan Cross Country Club, which is also sending a team to the Cross Country Coaches National Youth Championships in Terre Haute, Ind., on Dec. 1.
