Manhattan Wildcats win state tournament

The Manhattan Wildcats fourth grade boys basketball team finished first in the USSSA Division II state tournament in Kansas City this past weekend.

The Wildcats defeated the Shawnee Wildhawks 43-15 and MoKan Red 43-32 in pool play. 

In bracket play, Manhattan defeated the Olathe Ravens 27-19 and then the KC Vipers 38-22 in the semifinals. 

In the championship game, Manhattan defeated the KC Attack 32-27. 

With the tournament victory the Wildcats finished their season with a 32-1 record.

The Wildcats players are Mitch Munsen, David Reinhardt, Brett Seaton, Sam Shields, Colton Sullivan, BJ Young, Declan Weixelman and Peyton Weixelman.

They are coached by Scott Munsen, David Weixelman and Sean Weixelman.
