By The Mercury

Rebeckah Weddle, a homeschool senior from Manhattan, recently signed a letter of intent to play volleyball at Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, Iowa.  Reivers’ Head Coach Alicia Williams announced the signing at a ceremony attended by several coaches, friends and family at the Weddles’ home in Manhattan.

Weddle, a 6-foot middle hitter, was a three year starter for the Manhattan CHIEF varsity team, which competes in the Kansas Christian Athletic Association. Additionally, the team plays in several regional tournaments and the National Homeschool Volleyball Tournament held annually in Omaha, Neb. She received first team all KC AA recognition as well as several all-tournament team selections the last two years.

Weddle, the daughter of Mark and Peggy Weddle, will major in Health and Human Performances at Iowa Western.
