Manhattan High to conduct first practices



The 2014-15 athletic year at Manhattan High will get underway this week, as each of the school’s seven fall sports will begin practicing.

The football team’s upperclassmen will practice Monday through Wednesday from 3:15-6 p.m., while the freshmen will practice on the same days from 3:30-6 p.m. Both practices will be held at the MHS West Campus practice fields.

The volleyball team will work Monday through Wednesday as well in the MHS West Campus gymnasiums, with freshmen going from 3:20-5:15 p.m., while the upperclassmen will practice from 5:15-7 p.m.

The cross country teams will meet on Monday at 3:15 p.m. in the MHS West Campus cross country hallway, near the south gym.

Boys’ soccer will practice Monday through Wednesday at Bishop Stadium from 4:30-6:30 p.m.

Girls’ tennis will meet Monday from 3:15-5:30 p.m. at the MHS West Campus tennis courts.

Girls’ golf will practice Monday at 3:20 p.m., with a parent meeting to follow at 6 p.m., both at Stagg Hill Golf Course.

Chearleaders will meet at the MHS East Campus gymnasium on Tuesday from 4-6 p.m.

All athletes need a completed physical and athletic packet turned in to administrators in order to participate in fall sports.
