Manhattan Dirt Devils win Sunflower State Games title

The Manhattan 12-and-under Dirt Devils are the reigning champions of the 2013 Sunflower State Games baseball tournament. The Dirt Devils competed with the Topeka Bombers for first place on July 14 this past weekend, winning the championship game 3-1.

The Sunflower State Games is the largest amateur multi-sport festival in Kansas conducted annually and is recognized by the U.S. Olympic Committee. Having completed its 23rd year, the Games continue to recognize and reward Kansas athletes of all ages and skill levels, promoting the development of healthy lifestyles and physical fitness for the participants, their families and the communities where they live.

Dirt Devils players include Tyler Beckman, Kalen Rauch, Ian Russell, Trevor Gregoire, Jeremy Hinrichs, Thomas Fritz, Zane Kohl, Hunter Kordyak, Toby Becker, Gunner Taylor, Jordan Faucett and Brett Wege. They are coached by Matt Becker, David Kordyak and Sonia Gregoire.
