By Grant Guggisberg

The Indians won their consolation semifinal against the Eagles on Friday afternoon, with Jonathon Taylor leading the way.

The senior point guard had a team-high 12 points for the Indians, with a balanced scoring effort from the rest of the team. Christopher Hudgins finished with nine points, while Payton Stephens and Alex Stitt each had eight.

After a slow start, Manhattan took the lead for good in the second quarter, staking a 24-19 lead at half and outscoring the Eagles in both the third and fourth quarters.

The win marked the first victory away from Manhattan for the Indians and put them into the fifth-place game against Lawrence Free State.
