A Manhattan man pleaded not guilty to rape in Riley County District Court Monday and will face a jury in February for the charge.
William Yankey, 28, was originally arrested on Sept. 11 for an alleged 2007 rape reportedly involving a woman known to him.
At the time of the alleged crime, police said the victim was in her early 20s.
Yankey is a visiting assistant professor of interior architecture and product design at Kansas State University. He was arrested on $50,000 bond, but has since been released.
Yankey’s trial scheduled for Feb. 27 and 28.
