Man guilty of child exploitation

By Katherine Wartell

A jury found a Manhattan man guilty of sexual exploitation of a child for possessing child pornography in Riley County District Court Thursday.

Michael Combs, 35, was arrested for the charge in November 2011 after Riley County officers executed a search warrant at his residence in an ongoing investigation involving child pornography in the area.

Combs’ sentencing, where he will either receive prison time or probation, is scheduled for Nov. 28 in front of District Judge David Stutzman.

Court officials said that based upon his criminal history, Combs would likely not be sentenced to more than 34 months for the crime.
