Man dies after calling police

A Fort Riley soldier died Thursday from unspecified medical issues after he called the police to report that an attempted burglary was in progress at his residence.

Lt. Josh Kyle said Frank Kincaid, 37, 824 Ewing Rd., called the police at about 9:14 p.m., but that when officers arrived, they did not find any signs of forced entry.

He said officers entered the house to make contact with Kincaid and discovered that he was having “medical difficulties.”

Riley County EMS transported Kincaid to Mercy Regional Health Center where he later died.

Kyle said an autopsy is pending and that the death is still under investigation, though preliminary findings indicate Kincaid’s death was not suspicious.
