By The Mercury

Riley County officers arrested a driver Tuesday morning after he allegedly intentionally struck the building of Pawnee Mental Health Services on Claflin Road with his car.

The car apparently damaged the south entrance of the building, as well as a tree in front of it.

Officer Matthew Droge said charges against the driver, Michael West, 61, Manhattan, are pending investigation, but said officers were called to the scene at approximately 8:22 a.m.

No major injuries were reported. At the time of publication, officers were still processing the case.
