Riley County officers arrested a Junction City man Monday on several domestic charges, including battery, after he reportedly made contact with his estranged girlfriend despite a restraining order.
James Gayle, 19, was arrested Monday evening for domestic battery, criminal restraint, criminal threat, aggravated intimidation, violation of protection orders and criminal trespass. Police were called to an apartment complex in the 500 block of Stone Drive at approximately 2:20 p.m. Monday by Gayle’s girlfriend, who reported the domestic disturbance, Sgt. Brad Ingalls said.
She told police that Gayle allegedly battered her and restrained her during the incident. Gayle was arrested later that evening following an interview with the police, Ingalls said.
Gayle is confined to the Riley County Jail on an automatic 48-hour hold.
