Man arrested for multiple warrants

By Katherine Wartell

Riley County officers arrested a Manhattan man Wednesday after they discovered during a traffic stop that he had three Riley County District Court warrants against him.

Lt. Josh Kyle said Michael Tyrone Murphy, 44, 212 S. 5th St., was stopped by an officer Wednesday morning near Kimball Avenue and Shirley Lane, where it was discovered that Murphy was driving while suspended and had three warrants for failure to appear against him.

Kyle said the warrants were for the original charges of violation of a protection order, criminal trespass and harassment by a telecommunication device.

Officers arrested Murphy for driving while suspended and three counts of failure to appear.

He is confined to $12,750 bond at the Riley County Jail.
