Man arrested for forgery, detained by ICE

By Katherine Wartell

A Kansas City man arrested Tuesday for forgery is now being held on an immigration detainer for ICE.

Lt. Josh Kyle said that officers originally arrested Cesar Riccardo Trevino, 24, for allegedly altering a check but determined that the crime occurred outside of their jurisdiction in Kansas City, Mo. He said Trevino was released but re-confined after ICE put a hold on him.

Kyle said the Clarion Hotel, 530 Richards Dr., reported Tuesday that a check written for construction work had been altered for $500 more than it was written.

He said police made contact with Trevino and arrested him for the forgery early Tuesday evening. He is being held at the Riley County Jail without bond.
