Man arrested for burglary

A Wakefield man was arrested for residential burglary Monday afternoon in Riley after the homeowner reportedly caught the man in the act.

Sgt. Brad Ingalls said Jason Robinson, 41, was arrested after Vinton Visser, 60, found him in his home in the 9000 block of Madison Road around 2 p.m. and notified police.

Officers made contact with Robinson in the area of the home, Ingalls said. He said Robinson had attempted to steal miscellaneous antiques and memorabilia from Visser’s home, but the items were recovered.

Robinson is confined to the Riley County Jail on $5,000 bond.
