By The Mercury

Officers arrested a Cedar Point man Thursday for aggravated assault and domestic battery after allegedly threatening a woman at knifepoint.

Joshua Mitchell, 28, was arrested after police were called to a residence in the northeast part of Manhattan by a 40-year-old woman who reported that Mitchell struck her during an argument and threatened to kill her while holding her at knifepoint, Officer Matthew Droge said.

Mitchell was also arrested for driving while revoked for reportedly driving away following the fight, which occurred around 8:30 a.m., and for drug paraphernalia, allegedly found in his vehicle. Mitchell was released on those charges on $15,000 bond but arrested subsequently for probation violation out of Chase County.
