Man arrested after traffic stop

Police arrested a Manhattan man Thursday afternoon on several warrants and drug charges after officers recognized him driving, stopped him and searched his vehicle.

Joshua Davies, 25, 6226 Cardinal Lane, Apt. 43, was arrested for felony possession of methamphetamine, felony possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, three counts of violation of protection orders, two counts of probation violation and failure to appear.

Officer Matthew Droge said the drug charges stemmed from a police search of his vehicle after police dogs with the “K-9” drug unit performed a walk-around of the vehicle.

Davies was stopped in the 400 block of Yuma Street at about 4 p.m.

He is confined to the Riley County Jail on $29,000 bond.
