Man arrested after leaving accident

A 24-year-old man was arrested Monday afternoon for alleged drunken driving and leaving the scene of an accident.

Pablo Mendez, 24, 1704 Fair Lane, No. 2, was arrested in the 3000 block of Anderson Avenue after he allegedly was involved in an accident with another vehicle nearby and left the scene.

Lt. Josh Kyle said he was located in the parking lot at 3011 Anderson Ave., and arrested for DUI, duty of driver to give information after an accident, no driver’s license and transporting an open container.

Kyle said bond was set at $2,000, but Mendez is confined to the Riley County Jail on a U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement hold.
