Man arrested after car crash

A Manhattan man was arrested early Friday morning for various driving charges, including DUI, after he reportedly crashed into another car and fled the scene. Officials said he again fled when officers later located his vehicle.

Jamar Fudge, 27, 2723 Kirkwood Drive, was arrested shortly before 2 a.m. for driving while suspended, duty of driver to give information, DUI, fleeing or attempting to elude and failure to stop at injury accident.

Sgt. Brad Ingalls said Fudge allegedly rear-ended another car at the intersection of N. Manhattan Avenue and Petticoat Lane, before fleeing. The driver of the other vehicle refused transport, but complained of neck pain, Ingalls said.

When officers later located Fudge in his car, Ingalls said, he fled a short distance before being apprehended in the 1900 block of Strong Avenue.

Fudge was released from the Riley County Jail on $3,750 bond.
