Make a point to fly flag, thank soldiers on July 4

By Letters to the Editor

To the Editor:

The United States of America is celebrating 238 years of independence on July 4. Gen. George Washington’s army fought what it believed in — God, home and country.

Soldiers in the Revolutionary Army sacrificed their lives and paved the way for our freedom.

Our modern military forces fight for our freedom each day. They continually sacrifice their lives for God, home and country so that we may continue to enjoy our freedom.

The continued support of our armed forces is necessary to maintain the United States of America. Please fly your United States flag proudly on July 4 and remember our armed forces. Say “Thank you for your service” when you greet a soldier. Please say a prayer for those who have given the ultimate sacrifice, either at home or abroad.
