Local youth competes in track and field meet

The 2013 Manhattan Hershey track and field meet was held this past weekend at Bishop Stadium.

In the boys’ age 9-10 division, Jason Moran won the softball throw and Cole Ramsey won the standing long jump. Korin Koenig won the 50 meters and Ramsey won the 100 meters. Moran won the 200 and 400.

In the boys’ 11-12, Luke Wichmann won the shot put, 400 and 800. In the boys’ 13-14, Suman Wang won shot put and Glenn Young won standing long jump.

Westyn Claar won the 100 and 200, while Chris Lowry won the 800. Jared LeBlow won the 1,600 and a team of Young, Koenig, Claar and Brett Kulp won the 4x100 relay.

In the girls’ 9-10 division, Kaitlyn Wichman won the softball throw and Bailey Wichman won the standing long jump. Maya Kilpatrick won the 50 and Ashtyn Kulp won the 100. Bailey Wichman won the 200 and Hannah Pruss won the 400.

In the girls’ 11-12 Jessi Brummett won the softball throw and the standing long jump. Andrea Turner took first in the 100 and 200 and Emily Stewart was first in the 800. A team of Brummett, Turner, Stewart and Brookann Wichman took first in 4x100.

In the girls’ 13-14 division, Lydia Bowyer was first in the standing long jump, the 100 and the 200.
