Local man was I-70 crash victim

Authorities said Saturday a 26-year-old Manhattan man was the person killed Thursday evening when his automobile struck a snowplow during a storm on I-70.

The victim was identified as Jason Skyler Harper, 26. He died at 4 p.m. Thursday when he lost control of his car in the storm and it slid into a snowplow parked along the eastbound side of the highway.

A passenger in his car, Jillian Hester Davidson, 25, of Wichita, was injured. She was taken to Geary Community Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the snowplow, identified as Jared Elial Berry, 31, of White City, was not injured.
