Local highway projects approved by KDOT

The Kansas Department of Transportation released the list of highway projects for 2013-2014 fiscal years in Kansas.

The total estimated construction cost for these projects are $1.1 billion. Here is a list of area projects approved:

FY2013

Bridge Replacement

•US-36: Snipe Creek Bridge in Marshall county, 3.36 miles east of K-99; estimated cost of $1,438,000.

•K-63: Vermillion Creek Bridge, 1.2 miles north of Havensville in Pottawatomie county; estimated cost of $1,085,056.

Light Preservation

•K-87: From Vliets to US-36/K-87 junction in Marshall county; estimated cost of $802,125

•K-99: From the Marshall/Pottawatomie county line to the south junction of K-99/K-9 in Marshall county; estimated cost of $902,964.

•K-9: From the east junction US-77/K-9 to the south junction of K-99/K-9 in Marshall county; estimated cost of $1,160,130.

•US-77: From the west junction of US-77/US-36 to the Kansas/Nebraska state line in Marshall county; estimated cost of $1,062,765.

•K-233: From the US-77/K-233 junction to the south city limits of Oketo in Marshall county;  estimated cost of $406,858.

•K-99: From the north junction of K-99/K-16 to the Pottawatomie/Marshall county line; estimated cost of $432,682.

•K-99: From the US-24/K-99 junction to the north junction K-99/K-16 in Pottawatomie county; estimated cost of $1,987,108.

•US-24: From the Pottawatomie/Riley county line east for 3.9 miles; estimated cost of $933,360.

•US-24: From 3.9 miles east of the Pottawatomie/Riley county line to the 4-lane divided section.

•K-16: From the Pottawatomie/Riley county line to the south junction of US-24/K-16 in Pottawatomie county; estimated cost of $1,779,666.

•US-24: From the east junction of US-24/US-77 to the junction of US-24/K-13 in Riley county; estimated cost of $1,052,150.

•K-82: From the north junction of US-77/K-82 to the US-24/K-82 junction in Riley county; estimated cost of $167,202.

•US-77: From the Riley/Geary county line to the west junction of US-77/US-24 in Riley county; estimated cost of $477,162.

•K-16: From the US-77/K-16 junction to the west EWS of Mile Long Bridge in Riley county; estimated cost of $166,250.

•Adjacent to I-70 in Riley County: two locations on Little Deep Creek road, one at mile post 317.5 and one at milepost 317.6, approximately 3.5 miles; estimated cost of $434,650.

Bridge Repair

•Bridge 001 in Pottawatomie county on US-24, located 1.35 miles east of Riley county line; estimated cost of $197,654.

Modernization

•Intersection US-24 and Kaw Valley Road in Wamego; estimated cost of $382,000.

•US-24 and Excel Road in Pottawatomie county; estimated cost of $653,000.

•US-24: Intersection of Tuttle Creek Boulevard and Poyntz Avenue in Manhattan; estimated cost of $557,000.

Expansion

•US-24 and Crown C Road in Pottawatomie County; estimated cost of $477,600.

 

FY 2014

Heavy Preservation

•US-24: North junction US-24/K-13 to the east junction of US-24/K-177 in Riley county; estimated cost of $6,426,129.

Bridge Replacement

•K-99: Bridge 040, Snipe Creek, 4.4 miles north of the norh junction of K-99/K-9 in Marshall county; estimated cost of $600,397.

•K-99: Bridge 042, Wolf Creek, located 2.3 miles northeast of the K-99/US-36 junction in Marshall county; estimated cost of $1,016,705.

•US-24: Bridge 014, Deep Creek Drainage, located 1.05 miles east of Broadway in Belvue; estimated cost of $750,674.

•US-24: Bridge 018, College Creek, located 0.54 miles east of K-63 in Pottawatomie county; estimated cost of $756,801.

Modernization

•US-24 and Flush Road in Pottawatomie County; estimated cost of $984,000.

•US-24: Intersection at Tuttle Creek boulevard and McCall Road in Manhattan; estimated cost of $199,000.
