Linda D. Motley Vawter, 65, died Thursday, July 17, 2014, in Denver, Colo., due to complications from M.S.

The family provided the following information.

Linda was born on Feb. 7, 1949, in Manhattan. She graduated from Manhattan High School in 1967 and continued her education at the University of Phoenix. She married Phil Vawter in Manhattan on May 13, 1976 and worked for Mountain Bell Telephone Co.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ed Motley.

She is survived by her mother, Jacqueline Motley, of Manhattan; a sister, Janet Swander and her husband Jay; four brothers: Tom Motley and his wife Debbie, Mike Motley and his wife Terry, Robert Motley and his wife Toni, and David Motley and his wife Angie. She also leaved behind four children: Paul Gotcha and his wife Dawn, Charisse Vawter, Eddie Vawter and his wife Danielle, Brian Vawter, and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, at the First Presbyterian Church in Manhattan. Cremation will take place following. Memorials may be made to the M.S. Society.
