Kansas State junior Laura Galvan was named Big 12 Runner of the Week for her performance at the J.K. Gold Classic this past Saturday.
Galvan, in her first race of the season, won the J.K. Gold Classic (4K/6K) with a time of 13:49.72.
This is the second consecutive year that a Wildcat runner has been named Big 12 Runner of the Week after winning the J.K. Gold Classic. Junior Fernando Roman won the award after placing first at last year’s J.K. Gold Classic with a time of 18:37.09.
K-State will have a week off then continue action on Sept. 21 when the Wildcats travel to Lincoln, Neb., for the Woody Greeno Invitational.
