The Kansas State women’s golf team will open up its 2012 spring season today at the Westbrook Spring Invitational at the par-72, 6,178-yard, Westbrook Village Golf Club in Peoria, Ariz.

The tournament will consist of 36 holes today, followed by 18 holes on Tuesday, with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. MST, each day.

K-State will use the scoring lineup of Ami Storey, Hannah Roos, Gianna Misenhelter, Paige Osterloo and Whitney Pyle, while Olivia Eliasson will compete as an individual. This same lineup previously placed ninth at the Susie Maxwell Classic back in October.

Misenhelter looks to continue her successful fall season that included two top-five finishes. The sophomore competed in all five events and achieved the team’s best stroke average for the fall season. Storey and Pyle also look to continue their successful fall after participating in all five events, both earning two top-20 finishes.

Osterloo competed in four events, starting off her fall season with a top-10 finish at the Marilynn Smith/Sunflower Invitational, and Roos competed in three events earning her best finish at the Dale McNamara Invitational.

Eliasson will compete as an individual for the second time this season.

This will be the first time the Wildcats have ever competed in the Westbrook Spring Invitational.
