KSU Salina offering new leadership studies course

K-State Salina will begin offering the course Introduction to Leadership Concepts in the spring 2012 semester, which starts Tuesday, Jan. 17. It’s the first step toward making the minor available in Salina.

“The class has two focuses,” said Levi Esses, assistant director of student life on the Salina campus. “Students will learn about themselves as leaders and they will participate in a service learning project to get them involved in the community.”

Students also will write their personal leadership philosophy and examine the discipline of leadership. Esses will co-teach the class with Michael Finnegan, instructor of leadership studies.

The class is the first in a set of four classes required to earn a leadership studies minor.
