The Kansas State women’s basketball team will open the Big 12 portion of Jeff Mittie’s first season with the Wildcats on Jan. 3 at Iowa State, as the Big 12 announced the complete 2015 league schedule on Wednesday.
K-State will begin the home portion of its 2015 Big 12 schedule on Jan. 6 against reigning co-Big 12 regular-season champion Baylor. This will be the second straight season K-State will open its home Big 12 schedule against the Bears.
Following its home opener against Baylor, K-State will host Kansas in the Sunflower Showdown on Saturday, Jan. 10. The Wildcats will play three of its first five league games in Bramlage Coliseum.
K-State’s remaining Big 12 home schedule is as follows — Iowa State (Jan. 17), Oklahoma State (Jan. 28), Texas (Feb. 4), TCU (Feb. 11), Texas Tech (Feb. 14), Oklahoma (Feb. 21) and West Virginia (March 3).
The 2014-15 home schedule features 19 home games, including two exhibition games, eight non-conference games and nine Big 12 contests.
In addition to the league opener at Iowa State, K-State’s Big 12 road schedule unfolds as follows — at Oklahoma State (Jan. 14), at West Virginia (Jan. 21), at Baylor (Jan. 21) at Texas Tech (Jan. 31), at Oklahoma (Feb. 7), at Texas (Feb. 18), at Kansas (Feb. 25) and at TCU (Feb. 28).
The Big 12 tournament will be March 6-9 at American Airlines Arena in Dallas.
