KSU dorm searched

Police officers searched a portion of Haymaker Hall Monday in connection with the arrest of a student.

Kevin Decock, 19, of Haymaker Hall, was arrested Saturday for driving under the influence, interference with law enforcement, possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, no Kansas drug tax stamp and identity fraud.

During a traffic stop, Decock accelerated and drove away from an RCPD officer. He was apprehended approximately half a block away by another RCPD officer.

Follow-up investigation indicated the possible presence of substances relevant to the arrest at the dorm. Residents were asked to leave their rooms but were allowed to remain in the floor’s common area during the search.

Decock is held in lieu of a $9,000 bond.
