Kathleen L. Hubbard, 64, of Chanute, died Wednesday at the Heritage Care Center.

The family provided some of the following information.

Kathleen was born on Oct. 29, 1950, in Manhattan. She was the daughter of Vaughn and Donna (Funk) Kleiner.

After high school, Kathleen was a graduate of the Dental Assistant School in Emporia, She also graduated from Kansas State with a bachelor’s degree.  On Feb. 26, 1977, in Manhattan, Kathleen married Milton G. Hubbard. He survives at their home.

Kathleen’s first priority in life was taking care of her family.  She was the Christian Education Director for approximately 10 years, and she was a worship reader at the Living Word Assembly.  In her spare time she enjoyed traveling, being outdoors, watching her children during sports activities and reading.

Along with her husband Milton, survivors are three children, Shane Hubbard of Mesa, Ariz., Bret Hubbard of Kansas City, Kans., and Kelsey Hubbard of Carrollton, Texas; father, Vaughn Kleiner of Wamego; and sister, Vicky Wendland of Manhattan.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her mother, Donna.

A celebration of worship service will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Living Word Assembly Church.  Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the church.  Memorials have been suggested to either the Chanute Christian Academy or the Living Word Mission Fund.  Online condolences may be left at  Services have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home.
