Kansas State stands tall despite sportscaster’s insult

By Letters to the Editor

To the Editor:

I have been a Kansas State University supporter since the 1950s and will continue to be a supporter even after the nationally known sports announcer and former NCAA player has condemned KSU on the Leti Romero case. Does he know the whole story?

It’s easy to go after KSU when the university is forbidden to give its side of the story because of NCAA and privacy regulations. It appears that the inte-grity of this announcer has to be questioned.

I am a women’s basketball season-ticket holder. Romero’s athletic ability was something to see. At the same time, KSU gave her the opportunity to come to America and earn a college degree.

Yes, it’s easy to attack KSU when you know it can’t respond. At the same time, when KSU has more than 400 athletes, the best athletic director in the country and coaches considered to be at the top of their respective fields, I think KSU continues to stand tall.
