Kansas Ag. dept. to break ground today

By The Mercury

Groundbreaking on the Kansas Department of Agriculture building in Manhattan is slated for this afternoon.

It is scheduled for 4 p.m. at the Kansas State University Research Park on North Manhattan Avenue.

State Secretary of Agriculture Dale Rodman said earlier this spring the agency would move the majority of its offices to Manhattan.

The move is planned for no later than June 30, 2014.

The new facility will be three stories tall and cover 50,000 square feet.
