K-State’s ‘Madness in Manhattan’ set

With “Madness in Manhattan” less than three weeks away, Kansas State officials released more details regarding the free event set for Friday, Oct. 25, celebrating the start of the 2013-14 basketball season at Bramlage Coliseum.

The first 2,500 fans at the event will receive a free mini 2013 K-State men’s basketball Big 12 Championship banner. Doors to the arena will open at 8 p.m., following the homecoming parade and pep rally. Festivities will start at 8:30 p.m.

A special unveiling to honor K-State’s basketball heritage will highlight the evening, which will also feature scrimmages, a dunk contest and skills competition by both teams. The event will also showcase special video presentations and performances by the K-State pep band, Willie the Wildcat and the Classy Cats. In addition, there will be comments from head coaches Bruce Weber and Deb Patterson and selected men’s and women’s players.
