Senior Allison Dorau was named to the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association South All-Region team, announced this past week.
For Dorau, it is her second straight season earning the honor, as well as the first time she has been named first team.
Dorau’s latest accolade adds to an extensive list of honors earned this season. Competing as a member of the 1st Varsity 8, the senior helped K-State to program-best finishes at both the Big 12 and Conference USA Championships, earning a silver and bronze medal in each regatta, respectively.
The 1V8 was also Boat of the Week a total of three times across the two conferences. Individually, Dorau’s efforts earned her All-Conference honors in both the Big 12 and C-USA. She has also earned multiple academic honors including being one of three Wildcats named to the C-USA All-Academic Team.
The All-Region nomination marks the eighth time in program history, and fourth straight season, a K-State rower has been named to the team and it is the first time ever a Wildcat has earned first team honors.
The CRCA recognizes outstanding performances of rowers and coxswains from each of the five regions. Nominated student-athletes are evaluated on the strength of their team’s regional finish, coaches’ recommendations and 2,000-meter erg scores. To be eligible, student-athletes must have competed on their team’s varsity boat in 75 percent of races this season. All-America teams will be announced following the NCAA Championship this weekend at Eagle Creek Park in Indianapolis.
