After going 3-0 in the month of November in Equitation on the Flat, Kansas State equestrian rider Jacquelyn Bogstad was named Big 12 Rider of the Month in the discipline.
Bogstad was one of four riders to earn the honor in an announcement by the Big 12 on Wednesday.
Bogstad started the month with wins against No. 10 SMU and UT-Martin.
The senior from Woodland Hills, Calif., knocked off SMU’s Adeline Audette, 74-72, before posting a season-high 94 to pick up her second win against UTM’s Rachel Crinklaw.
Bogstad’s ride against Crinklaw earned her Most Outstanding Player (MOP) honors.
In K-State’s fall season finale, Bogstad continued her winning streak by besting then-No. 4 Georgia’s Kylee Arbuckle, 80-70. Her win helped K-State takedown UGA, 13-7.
K-State ended the fall season with a 6-3 record and ranked fifth in the nation.
The Wildcats open the spring season on Feb.1 when the team travels to Brookings, S.D., for meets against South Dakota State and Fresno State.
K-State returns to Timbercreek Stables on Feb. 28 when Big 12 foe No. 3 Baylor visits.
Joining Bogstad on the Rider of the Month list was Baylor’s Sam Schaefer (Equitation Over Fences), Oklahoma State’s Katy Krshka (Horsemanship) and TCU’s Alexi Child (Reining).
