K-State lands early QB commitment

Seeing no need to drag out the recruitment process any longer, dynamic Hays High quarterback Alex Delton chose Kansas State on Tuesday, giving the Wildcats their first commitment of the 2015 signing class.

“I’m very comfortable with them,” Delton told during a January interview. “I was the first guy in my class that they offered at quarterback. The relationship I have with Coach (Del) Miller and them is pretty big. The relationship I have with the whole staff is good. I’ve been around there quite a bit and I definitely feel comfortable with them.”

Delton, a three-star dual-threat QB by Rivals, committed to the Wildcats after receiving interest from Nebraska, Missouri, West Virginia, Minnesota, LSU, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Penn State, TCU, Tennessee and Notre Dame.

The senior-to-be is listed at 6-feet and 185 pounds and reportedly has 4.42 speed. Rivals has Delton ranked 13th nationally among all dual-threat quarterbacks in the 2015 class.

“I feel like they kind of favor that particular type of quarterback with my skills,” Delton said. “It’s good that they offered me. I can definitely see myself fitting into that program.”
