K-State fans demonstrate class, even after defeat

By Letters to the Editor

To the Editor:

I am from Waco, Texas and a Baylor supporter. I have attended all five Baylor football games played in Manhattan, and before this year I had felt that the Kansas State fans were among the best fans I had seen —and I have been to lots of places. KSU won the four games before this year, and I wondered before the game how fans would react if we were able to win.

Baylor did win, and I am very impressed. My opinion of your fan base is even more positive after that game. Even after the tough loss, fans acted with class and were very nice to me as a visitor. I hope we can make that kind of impression when people come to Waco.

The fans were very loud and vocal during the game, and obviously supported their team in a great way, but after that tough game, I felt that they continued to show class. Our car was parked a long walk from the stadium, and we must have had 10 to 12 people speak to us on the way to our car or at the restaurant where we ate. All the comments were nice. Lots of class.

My hat is off to you for your strong support of your football team and for the way you conducted yourselves, even after a tough loss.

Good luck the rest of the year.
