The Kansas State men’s basketball team remained undefeated at home in league play, outlasting Iowa State, 80-73, on Saturday in Bramlage Coliseum.
The Wildcats (20-9, 10-6 Big 12) used a 16-0 to go ahead 20-9 in the first half, before Iowa State (22-6, 10-6) powered back to cut into the lead. K-State led 39-34 at the half.
The Cyclones took the lead in the second half and led by two with 9:45 left in the game, but the Wildcats would reclaim the lead with a 7-1 lead to go up 68-63 with 3:59 left. Iowa State tied the game at 69 with 1:57 left, but K-State went on a 11-4 run the rest of the way.
Shane Southwell emerged from a slump to lead K-State with 13 points, while Marcus Foster and Wesley Iwundu each had 11 points. Melvin Ejim led Iowa State with 30 points and DeAndre Kane scored 24.
